Abdorin 

Presentation: Abdorin, available in Bangladesh, typically contains Dicycloverine Hydrochloride 10 mg per tablet. It is usually available in blister packs. Abdorin is a product of Opsonin Pharma Ltd.

Indications: Abdorin (Dicycloverine) is indicated for the relief of smooth muscle spasm, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract. It is used in conditions such as:

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Functional bowel disorders
• Colicky abdominal pain
• Diverticulitis
• Infantile colic

Dosage and Administration: The usual oral dosage for adults is 10 to 20 mg three times a day. For children over 6 months of age, the usual dose is 5 to 10 mg three times a day. It is recommended to follow the physician's instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, and urinary hesitancy. Less common side effects can include nausea, vomiting, weakness, and constipation.

Precautions: Abdorin (Dicycloverine) is contraindicated in patients with obstructive uropathy, obstructive disease of the gastrointestinal tract, severe ulcerative colitis, reflux esophagitis, unstable cardiovascular status in acute hemorrhage, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis,or known hypersensitivity to Dicycloverine. Caution should be exercised in patients with autonomic neuropathy, hepatic or renal disease, coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, cardiac tachyarrhythmia, hiatal hernia, or known or suspected prostatic hypertrophy.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Dicycloverine should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is contraindicated in lactating mothers as it has been reported to be secreted in human milk.

Storage: Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
