Acaril 50 

Presentation: Each tablet of Acaril 50 contains 50 mg of Acarbose. It is available in strips. The tablets have specific shapes and markings depending on the manufacturer (The White Horse Pharmaceuticals Ltd.) in Bangladesh.

Indications: Acaril (acarbose) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It inhibits intestinal enzymes to delay glucose absorption after meals.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose is 25 mg three times daily with the first bite of each main meal. Dosage may be adjusted gradually to 50-100 mg three times daily based on blood glucose levels and tolerability. Follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Side Effects: Common side effects include flatulence, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. These are often transient. Elevated liver enzymes may occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acarbose, diabetic ketoacidosis, cirrhosis, inflammatory bowel disease, colonic ulceration, partial intestinal obstruction, or conditions worsened by increased intestinal gas. Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease. May enhance the effects of other antidiabetic drugs, increasing the risk of hypoglycemia.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
