Ace Syrup
- Presentation:
- Each 5 ml contains Paracetamol BP 120 mg.
- Available in bottles of [mention typical bottle size, e.g., 60 ml or 100 ml].
- Indications: Ace Syrup is indicated for the relief of:
- Fever.
- Mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, earache, muscular aches, and pain associated with colds and flu.
- Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage should be based on the child's weight. If weight is not known, use the age guidelines provided below. Doses may be repeated every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but not more than 4 times in 24 hours.
- Children 6-12 years: 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoonfuls).
- Children 1-5 years: 2.5-5 ml (ÂŊ-1 teaspoonful).
- Children 3 months-1 year: 1.25-2.5 ml (Âŧ-ÂŊ teaspoonful).
- Infants under 3 months: Use only as directed by a physician.
- Use the provided measuring device or a marked teaspoon to ensure accurate dosing.
- Pharmacology:
- Paracetamol is a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic. It produces analgesia by elevation of the pain threshold and antipyresis through action on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center. Â
- Side Effects:
- Side effects of paracetamol are usually mild and infrequent when taken at recommended doses. Allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur rarely.
- Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.
- Consult a physician if fever persists for more than 3 days or pain for more than 5 days.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
