Presentation: Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) powder in single-dose sachets, with added fruit flavoring to enhance palatability, especially for children. Each sachet contains a precise mixture of electrolytes (sodium chloride, potassium chloride) and glucose, formulated according to World Health Organization (WHO) or similar guidelines. The exact composition will be printed on the sachet.
Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of dehydration caused by diarrhea, vomiting, excessive sweating, or other conditions leading to fluid and electrolyte loss in both children and adults. ACI ORS Fruity helps to restore the body's fluid and electrolyte balance, preventing complications associated with dehydration.
Dosage and Administration: The dosage depends on the degree of dehydration and the age of the individual. The general guidelines are as follows:
Preparation: Dissolve the entire contents of one sachet in a specified amount of clean drinking water (usually 200 ml or 250 ml, as indicated on the sachet). Stir well until the powder is completely dissolved. Use the prepared solution within 24 hours; discard any unused portion after that. Do not add sugar, salt, or any other ingredients to the solution.
Side Effects: When prepared and used as directed, ACI ORS Fruity generally has no significant side effects. Over-consumption of ORS in individuals with normal hydration is usually not harmful but should be avoided.
Precautions: Use with caution in individuals with severe dehydration or shock, who may require intravenous fluids. If vomiting persists and prevents adequate oral intake, medical attention should be sought. Individuals with diabetes should be aware of the glucose content in the ORS solution and monitor their blood sugar levels accordingly.
Storage: Store the sachets in a cool, dry place, away from moisture. Do not store the prepared solution for more than 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children.
