Acipam 10

Presentation: Tablets containing Escitalopram Oxalate equivalent to Escitalopram 10 mg.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. May also be used in the management of panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Dosage & Administration:

• Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder: Adults: The usual starting dose is 10 mg once daily. The dose may be increased by the physician to a maximum of 20 mg daily based on clinical response.
• Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder: Adults: The initial dose is 5 mg once daily for the first week, followed by an increase to 10 mg once daily. The dose may be further increased by the physician.

Administer orally once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in elderly patients and those with hepatic or renal impairment. Follow physician's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, headache, insomnia, fatigue, dry mouth, increased sweating, and sexual disturbances. Less common side effects can include dizziness, anxiety, agitation, tremor, and gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions: Exercise caution in patients with a history of mania, seizures, bleeding disorders, or narrow-angle glaucoma. Use with caution in patients with cardiac conditions. May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior, especially in children, adolescents, and young adults. Avoid abrupt discontinuation of treatment. Use with caution when co-administered with other serotonergic drugs or drugs that affect platelet function. Inform physician if pregnant or breastfeeding.
