Indications

Adovas is a syrup that liquefies phlegm, soothes throat irritation, and helps relieve hoarseness. It is a remedy for all types of coughs, including dry, irritable coughs, as well as allergic and smoker's coughs.

Composition

Each 5 ml teaspoonful of syrup contains extracts of a combination of herbs, including:

• Adhatoda vasica
• Piper longum
• Glycyrrhiza glabra
• Trikatu (a mix of Piper nigrum and Zingiber officinale)
• Terminalia chebula
• Vitis venifera
• Acorus calamus
• Saussurea lappa
• Syzygium aromaticum
• Trizatak (a mix of Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Elettaria cardamomum, Cinnamomum tamala)
• Pistacia integerrima
• Myrica nagi
• Woodfordia fruticosa

Adovas contains a blend of herbs, each with specific beneficial properties:

• Glycyrrhiza glabra (Jashthi Modhu): Soothes throat irritation, boosts the immune system, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and expectorant.
• Zingiber officinale (Shunthi): Acts as an antihistamine and is very effective for the common cold.
• Terminalia chebula (Haritaki): Helps remove toxins from the body.
• Vitis venifera (Kismiss): Relieves coughs and acts as a general tonic.
• Saussurea lappa (Kur): Serves as an antiseptic and is particularly useful for bronchial asthma.
• Syzygium aromaticum (Labango): Useful for coughs and other respiratory illnesses, and helps prevent bad breath.
• Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Darchini): An antibacterial and antifungal agent that relieves coughs through its soothing action.
• Elettaria cardamomum (Elachi): An aromatic herb with antimicrobial properties.
• Pistacia integerrima (Kakra sringi): Helps with asthma.

Dosage & Administration

• Children under 12 years: Take 1-2 teaspoonfuls (5-10 ml) 2-3 times a day.
• Adults: Take 3 teaspoonfuls (15 ml) 2-3 times a day.

For best results, you may add some warm water to the syrup.
