Indications:
Algin is an effective antispasmodic medication designed to alleviate muscle spasms in the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus. It provides symptomatic relief for pain associated with functional disorders of the digestive and biliary systems. Algin is also used to treat spasm and discomfort in urological and gynecological conditions.

Pharmacology:
Tiemonium Methylsulphate works as a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine. It also enhances the binding of calcium to membrane phospholipids and proteins. This mechanism helps to inhibit the action of contractile proteins in visceral cells, leading to a reduction in spasms and pain in the visceral organs.

Dosage & Administration:

Tablet/Syrup:

Adults: Typically, 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoons of syrup, divided into daily doses.

Children: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily, divided into doses.

Injection:

Administer one injection 3 times a day, either intravenously (slowly) or intramuscularly.

Suppository:

20 mg suppository, used 2-3 times daily through the rectal route.

Contraindications:
