Androcap 

Presentation: Androcap Capsule, available in Bangladesh, contains Testosterone Undecanoate as the active ingredient, typically in a 40 mg strength per capsule. It is presented as a soft, oval, glossy capsule with a transparent, orange-red color and an oily fill, usually supplied in blister packs.

Indications: Androcap is indicated for testosterone replacement therapy in men with hypogonadism, a condition where the body does not produce enough natural testosterone. This can address symptoms such as decreased libido, fatigue, mood changes, and can aid in the normal growth, development, and function of male sex organs and secondary sexual characteristics.

Dosage and Administration: The usual initial dosage is 3-4 capsules (120-160 mg) daily for the first 2-3 weeks, followed by a gradual reduction to a maintenance dose of 1-3 capsules (40-120 mg) daily. The daily dose is usually divided, with half taken in the morning and half in the evening, and must be taken with a meal to ensure proper absorption. Swallow the capsules whole with water or other fluid, without chewing.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include increased sexual desire and fluid retention (swelling of ankles or feet). In men, prolonged, abnormal, painful erections or disturbed sperm formation and decreased sperm count may occur. In elderly men, prostate problems may worsen. In young boys, early sexual development and disturbed growth are possible.

Precautions: Androcap is contraindicated in patients with prostate or breast cancer and in those with hypersensitivity to testosterone undecanoate or any other ingredients in the capsule. Extra caution and medical supervision are necessary for young boys and elderly men. Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or migraine. Food is necessary for the absorption of this medication. Certain other medications may interact with Androcap; inform your doctor of all medicines you are taking.

Storage: Keep Androcap out of the reach and sight of children. Store at temperatures between 8°C and 30°C in the original package to protect from light. Do not use after the expiry date.
