Anset 16 Suppository - (16mg Ondansetron)

Presentation: Each suppository contains 16 mg of Ondansetron. 

Indications: Anset (Ondansetron) is an antiemetic medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by:

• Chemotherapy for cancer
• Radiation therapy
• Surgery (post-operative nausea and vomiting - PONV)

Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.  

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose for adults for PONV is 16 mg administered as a single dose one hour before anesthesia. For chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, the dosage and timing depend on the emetogenicity of the chemotherapy and will be determined by your doctor. The suppository is for rectal use only. Follow the instructions provided with the product for proper insertion. Wash your hands before and after use.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Fatigue
• Malaise

Less common side effects can include drowsiness, dizziness, and rash. Serious side effects are rare but can occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, chest pain, or irregular heartbeat.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Ondansetron or other similar drugs. Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have liver problems, heart problems, or a history of a prolonged QT interval. Use with caution with other medications that can affect the heart's electrical activity. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Storage: Store the suppositories as directed on the packaging, usually in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
