Antigall 150

Presentation:

Antigall 150 is a tablet containing 150 mg of Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) as its active ingredient. It is typically available as a white to off-white tablet.

Indications:

Antigall 150 (Ursodeoxycholic Acid) is indicated for the treatment of various hepatobiliary disorders and for the dissolution and prevention of certain types of gallstones. Specific indications include:

  • Dissolution of cholesterol gallstones (especially radiolucent gallstones in a functioning gallbladder).
  • Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC).
  • Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).
  • Cholestasis (jaundice).
  • Viral Hepatitis.
  • Alcoholic Fatty Liver.
  • Non-Alcoholic Steato Hepatitis (NASH).
  • Prevention of gallstones during rapid weight loss.

Dosage and Administration:

The dosage of Antigall 150 varies depending on the indication, patient's weight, and individual response to treatment. It should be taken with food, usually with a glass of milk or water. It is important to adhere to the doctor's prescribed dosage and complete the full course of treatment.

Typical dosages are:

  • For Dissolution of Gallstones: 8-12 mg/kg/day, often given as a single dose at night or in divided doses.
  • For Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC): 10-15 mg/kg/day, usually in 2-4 divided doses.
  • For Acute Viral Hepatitis: 600 mg/day.
  • For Alcoholic Fatty Liver: 300 mg/day.
  • For Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC): 25-30 mg/kg/day.
  • For Non-Alcoholic Steato Hepatitis (NASH): 13-15 mg/kg/day.

Your doctor will determine the most appropriate dosage for your condition.

  • Calcified or pigmented gallstones (as it is not effective for these types of stones).
  • Inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Acute inflammation of the gallbladder or biliary tract.
  • Biliary obstruction or fistula.
  • Liver disease (caution is advised, and liver function tests may be monitored).

Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, as1Antigall 150 can interact with certain substances. Notably, it should not be used with:
