Apocal DM 15'S 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium, Vitamin D3 BP (as Cholecalciferol) 200 IU, Magnesium Oxide BP equivalent to 40 mg Magnesium, Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate BP equivalent to 1.8 mg Manganese, Cupric Oxide equivalent to 1 mg Copper, Boron Citrate equivalent to 250 mcgBoron, and Zinc Oxide BP equivalent to 7.5 mg Zinc. Available in strips of 15 tablets, manufactured by Apex Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. To maintain strong bone growth and for proper functioning of the heart, muscles, and nerves. As a nutritional supplement and for bone development and regeneration. Also used during pregnancy and lactation, and in deficiency states of Calcium, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, and Boron.

Dosage and Administration:  

• Adult:1 film-coated tablet twice daily, preferably 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening or as directed bya physician. It is best taken with or just after main meals with a full glass of water.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Mild and transient gastrointestinal disturbances like constipation, flatulence, or nausea may occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. The risk of hypercalcemia should be considered in patients taking thiazide diuretics. Hypocalcemia must be avoided in digitalized patients. Certain foods (e.g., those containing oxalic acid, phosphate, or phytinic acid) may reduce the absorption of calcium. Concomitant treatment with phenytoin or barbiturates can decrease the effect of VitaminD3. Concomitant use of glucocorticoids can decrease the effect of Vitamin D3. The effects of digitalis and other cardiac glycosides may be attenuated with the oral administration of calcium combined with Vitamin D3.Calcium salts may reduce the absorption of thyroxin, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, or iron. It is advisable to allow a minimumperiod of four hours before takingcalcium. Patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria should be supervised carefully.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
