Arain Tablet - (200mg) contains Tolfenamic Acid at a strength of 200mg per tablet.¹ It is manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Limited in Bangladesh.  

Indications:

Arain is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for:

• Relieving pain associated with acute migraine attacks. 
• Mild to moderate pain. 
• Post-operative pain and fever.  

Dosage and Administration:

• Acute migraine attacks: 200 mg at the first sign of symptoms, may be repeated once after 1-2 hours. 
• Mild to moderate pain: 100-200 mg three times a day (tid).
• It should be taken with or immediately after meals.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Nausea 
• Vomiting 
• Indigestion
• Diarrhea 
• Heartburn 
• Loss of appetite 
• Dysuria (painful or difficult urination), especially in males  

Less common but potentially serious side effects can include gastrointestinal bleeding, and allergic reactions.

Precautions:

Inform your doctor if you have a history of:

• Asthma or bronchospasm
• Bleeding disorders 
• Cardiovascular diseases
• Peptic ulceration 
• Hypertension
• Kidney or liver impairment 
• Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs

It is not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and should be avoided if possible during breastfeeding.¹⁷ It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Alcohol consumption should be avoided.
