Aripra 15

Presentation: Each tablet contains 15 mg Aripiprazole.

Indications: Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder (manic and mixed episodes), adjunctive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder, irritability associated with autistic disorder, agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar mania.

Dosage & Administration:¹ Dosage varies by condition and age. Usual starting dose for adults with schizophrenia is 10-15 mg once daily. For bipolar mania, starting dose is usually 15 mg once daily. As adjunct for depression, initial dose is typically 2-5 mg daily. Follow doctor's instructions. Can be taken with or without food.   

Side Effects: Common: Nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, dizziness, akathisia (restlessness), anxiety, insomnia, blurred vision, increased saliva. Less common: Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS), tardive dyskinesia, hyperglycemia, weight gain, orthostatic hypotension, seizures.

Precautions: Inform doctor of heart, liver, kidney issues, diabetes, high cholesterol, seizures, history of stroke, low white blood cell count. Caution with CNS depressants and alcohol. Monitor for suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults. Pregnancy/breastfeeding: consult doctor. May cause drowsiness.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
