Aripiprazole 10 Tablet

Presentation: Each tablet contains 10 mg of Aripiprazole.

Indications: Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic medication used to treat several mental health conditions, including:

• Schizophrenia in adults and adolescents 13 years and older.
• Manic and mixed episodes of Bipolar I Disorder in adults and children 10 years and older.
• Irritability associated with Autistic Disorder in children and adolescents 6 to 17 years of age.
• Tourette's Disorder in children and adolescents 6 to 18 years of age.
• As an add-on treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adults.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose for adults with schizophrenia or bipolar mania is typically 10-15 mg once daily. The dosage can be adjusted by your doctor as needed, with a maximum dose of 30 mg per day.

For other conditions and in children/adolescents, the starting dose and dosage adjustments will vary based on the specific condition and the individual's response.

Aripiprazole tablets are usually taken orally once a day, with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Constipation
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Akathisia (feeling restless and needing to move)
• Insomnia or drowsiness
• Anxiety
• Increased appetite and weight gain
• Blurred vision

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. It is important to contact your doctor immediately if you experience any unusual or severe side effects, such as uncontrolled movements, changes in mood or behavior, fever with muscle stiffness, or signs of an allergic reaction.

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, including heart problems, diabetes, seizures, high cholesterol, or a history of suicidal thoughts.
• Aripiprazole may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in young adults. Monitor for any changes in mood or behavior.
• Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you, as it may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
• Avoid alcohol while taking aripiprazole as it can worsen side effects.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Contraindications: Aripiprazole is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or any of the inactive ingredients in the tablet.

Drug Interactions: Aripiprazole can interact with various medications. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, to avoid potential drug interactions. 

Storage: Store below 30°C (86°F), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
