Aslan D 30 Capsule

Presentation:Aslan D 30 is available as delayed-release capsules, each containing 30 mg of Dexlansoprazole.It is a product of UniMed Unihealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd.in Bangladesh. The capsules are designed with a Dual Delayed Release (DDR) formulation and usually come in blister packs.

Indications:Aslan D (Dexlansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for:  

• Healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE) for up to 8 weeks.  
• Maintaining healing of EE and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months.  
• Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for 4 weeks.  

Dosage and Administration:   The usual dose is 30 mg once daily. For healing of erosive esophagitis, the dose may be 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks. It can be taken without regard to food. The capsule should be swallowed whole. Alternatively, the capsule can be opened, and the intact granules sprinkled on one tablespoon of applesauce and swallowed immediately. Granules should not be chewed. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible, unless it is close to the next dose.A double dose should not be taken.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Diarrhoea  
• Abdominal pain  
• Nausea  
• Vomiting  
• Flatulence  

Less common side effects may include headache and other gastrointestinal disturbances. If these persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Precautions:Aslan D is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.  

Caution should be exercised in patients with:

• Gastric malignancy (possibility should be excluded).
• Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea. 
• Bone fracture risk (may increase risk with long-term use).
• Hypomagnesaemia (low magnesium levels).
• Concomitant use of methotrexate.  
• Liver impairment (a maximum daily dose of 30 mg should be considered for moderate hepatic impairment).

Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, as Dexlansoprazole can interact with certain drugs, including atazanavir, warfarin, tacrolimus, clopidogrel, and methotrexate.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: There are no adequate or well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Aslan D should be used during pregnancy only if the expected benefits outweigh the potential risks. It is not known whether Dexlansoprazole is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when administering Aslan D to a nursing mother.

Storage:Store below 30°C temperature & in a dry place, protected from light.Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
