Babiz Syrup

Presentation: Syrup containing Vitamin B-complex (Thiamine Hydrochloride BP 5 mg, Riboflavin-5-Phosphate Sodium BP equivalent to Riboflavin 2 mg, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 2 mg, Nicotinamide BP 20 mg) and Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate USP equivalent to elemental Zinc10 mg per 5 ml. Available in 100 ml and 200 ml bottles, manufactured by Rangs Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Babiz syrup is indicated for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B complex and Zinc deficiencies in adults, children, and infants. Vitamin B complex is essential for releasing energy from food, maintaining healthy brain and nerve function, and the formation of healthy red blood cells. Zinc is vital for immune function, wound healing, growth, and development.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Adults:10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician. 
  • Children:10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 1 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician. 
  • Infants:5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 1 to 2 times daily or as recommendedby the physician.  

Babiz syrup can be taken with or without food. Use the provided measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosage. Follow the doctor's instructions regarding the duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Babiz syrup is generally well-tolerated. However, some individuals may experience mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach upset. These side effects are usually temporary.

Precautions:

  • Babiz is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
  • Concomitant intake of tetracyclines and zinc may decrease the absorption and serum levels of tetracyclines.
  • Similarly, concomitant administration of zinc and fluoroquinolones may decrease the absorption and serum levels of some fluoroquinolones.
  • Co-administration of Niacin and HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (e.g., lovastatin) may increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
  • Pyridoxine may reduce levodopa's effectiveness by increasing its peripheral metabolism. 
  • Co-administration of pyridoxine with phenytoin may decrease serum levels of phenytoin.4 
  • In acute renal failure, zinc accumulation may occur, and dosage adjustment may be needed.

Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications before starting Babiz syrup.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 30°C.
