Balancia 500
Presentation:Each tablet contains 500 mg of Citicoline Sodium.
Indications: Balancia 500 is indicated for:
- Recovery of consciousness and overcoming motor deficit in cerebrovascular diseases like ischemia due to stroke (treatment should start within 24 hours of stroke).
- Cerebral insufficiency (e.g., dizziness, memory loss, poor concentration, disorientation) due to head trauma or brain injury.
- Cognitive dysfunction due to degenerative disease (Alzheimer's disease).
- As co-therapy for Parkinson's disease.
Dosage and Administration:
- Oral: The usual dose ranges from 500-2000 mg per day, depending on the condition and severity.
- For immediate treatment of ischemic stroke: 500-2000 mg daily, starting within 24 hours of the stroke.
- For decline in thinking skills due to stroke: 1000-2000 mg daily.
- For chronic cerebrovascular disease: 1000 mg daily in divided doses, with or between meals.
- For disturbance of consciousness due to head injury or brain surgery: 100-500 mg 1-2 times daily.
- Balancia 500 tablets can be taken with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
Side Effects:Occasionally, Balancia may exert a stimulating action on the parasympathetic nervous system and may cause a fleeting and discrete hypotensive effect.
Precautions:
- Inform your doctor if you have hypertonia of the parasympathetic nervous system, as it is contraindicated in this condition.
- In case of persistent intracranial hemorrhage, it is recommended not to exceed a dose of 1000 mg of Citicoline daily.
- Citicoline may enhance the effects of levodopa, carbidopa, and entacapone.
- Balancia should not be administered with products containing meclophenoxate.
- Use in pregnancy and lactation should only occur if the potential benefits justify the potential risks.
- It may cause increased dizziness or drowsiness, so caution should be exercised while operating machinery.
- Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Balancia.
Storage:Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture.Keep out of the reach of children.
