Benkinson 125 Capsule - (100mg + 25mg)

Presentation: Each capsule contains 100 mg of Levodopa BP and Benserazide Hydrochloride BP equivalent to 25 mg of Benserazide. 

Indications: Benkinson 125 Capsule is indicated for the treatment of all forms of Parkinson's syndrome, with the exception of medicine-induced Parkinsonism.  

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Benkinson 125 Capsule is highly individualized and must be carefully determined by a physician.

• Patients not presently receiving levodopa: The initial dose for adults is usually one capsule of Benkinson 62.5 (50mg/12.5mg) one to two times daily. Dosage is gradually increased by Benkinson 62.5 mg daily or every 3-4 days according to response.
• Patients previously on levodopa monotherapy:Initiate with 10-15% of the usual dose previously taken.  
• Patients previously on other levodopa/dopa-decarboxylasecombination therapy: Withdraw previous therapy for 12 hours before initiating therapy at Benkinson 62.5 mg three or four times daily.

The usual maintenance dose is one capsule of Benkinson 125 (100mg/25mg) three to six times daily. Capsules should be swallowed whole and can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with a high-protein meal may affect the absorption of levodopa.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include [mention common side effects, e.g., nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, lightheadedness, dizziness, and drowsiness]. As treatment continues, other side effects may occur, such as involuntary movements (dyskinesias), fluctuations in motor response ("on-off" phenomenon), and psychiatric disturbances (e.g., confusion, hallucinations, depression). Patients should report any new or worsening side effects to their doctor.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, such as [mention common precautions, e.g., heart disease, severe lung disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, melanoma or a history of suspicious skin lesions, or active peptic ulcer disease]. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders. Benkinson 125 may interact with other medications, including certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, and iron supplements. It is important to inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of the reach of children.
