Uses:

Benzopam is used for the short-term relief of anxiety symptoms such as:

• Difficulties in social interactions
• Agitation and insomnia
• Anxious and agitated depressive reactions
• Functional disturbances in the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems related to anxiety
• Psychosomatic disorders

Dosage:

• The usual dose for adults is 1.5-3 mg up to three times daily.
• Treatment should start with a low dose, gradually increasing as needed, up to 6-12 mg two or three times daily in severe cases (especially in hospital).
• The overall treatment period is usually 8-12 weeks.
• Older adults and those with liver problems may need lower doses.
• Benzopam is generally not recommended for children.
