Bioprem is indicated for the treatment of:

Pharmacology

Biotin, also known as vitamin H, is an essential vitamin involved in crucial physiological functions like fatty acid synthesis, amino acid breakdown, and gluconeogenesis. It acts as a coenzyme for mitochondrial carboxylases, which are important for maintaining hair, skin, and nail health. Biotin influences the growth and differentiation of epidermal cells, improving keratin structure. A deficiency in biotin can lead to hair loss, dermatitis, and other systemic symptoms. It is a commonly prescribed nutritional supplement for various types of hair loss.

Dosage & Administration

The dose of Bioprem varies based on the condition and age group.

• Adults: The general dose is 1-3 tablets per day, or as directed by a physician.
• Children (biotin deficiency): For children with biotin deficiency (usually between 1 week and 2 years of age), the dose is 5-10 tablets daily. The tablets can be crushed and mixed with water or fruit juice.

Interaction

• Anticonvulsant drugs: These may lower plasma levels of Bioprem.
• Antibiotics: Antibiotic use may reduce the amount of biotin contributed to the body by intestinal microflora.
• Raw egg whites: Excessive consumption of raw egg whites can interfere with biotin absorption.

Contraindications

Bioprem is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Side Effects

Bioprem is generally well-tolerated at the recommended dose. No toxicity has been reported even with high doses (up to 200 mg orally or 20 mg intravenously per day).

Pregnancy & Lactation

Sufficient clinical data is not available for the use of Bioprem in pregnant or nursing mothers.
