Bopam 3

Presentation: Each tablet contains Bromazepam 3 mg.

Indications: Bopam is indicated for the short-term relief of anxiety, tension, agitation, and sleep disturbances. It may also be used as a premedicant before surgical or diagnostic procedures.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage is individualized and determined by the physician based on the severity of symptoms and the patient's response.

• Anxiety and Tension: The usual adult dose ranges from 1.5 mg to 3 mg up to three times daily. In severe cases, the dose may be increased under medical supervision.
• Sleep Disturbances: The usual adult dose is 3 mg taken at bedtime.
• Premedication: The usual adult dose is 3 mg taken the night before and/or 1 to 2 hours before the procedure.

In elderly or debilitated patients, or those with hepatic impairment, lower doses are recommended. Treatment should be for the shortest duration necessary, usually ranging from a few days to a maximum of 8-12 weeks, including a gradual withdrawal period. Bopam tablets are administered orally. Follow your physician's instructions carefully regarding the dose and timing of administration.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include drowsiness, sedation, fatigue, muscle weakness, and ataxia (lack of coordination). Less common side effects can include dizziness, lightheadedness, confusion, memory impairment, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Prolonged use may lead to dependence.

Precautions: Inform your physician if you have a history of substance abuse, liver or kidney disease, respiratory problems (such as sleep apnea), or myasthenia gravis. Use caution with alcohol and other central nervous system depressants, as they can enhance the sedative effects of bromazepam. Bopam may impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid abrupt discontinuation of the medication due to the risk of withdrawal symptoms. Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Bromazepam is a benzodiazepine and has a potential for dependence.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
