Bredicon

Presentation: Bredicon is available as tablets, with the common strength being 75 mcg of desogestrel. It is usually available in strips containing 28 tablets. Please refer to the product packaging for exact details.

Indications: Bredicon is indicated for oral contraception to prevent pregnancy.

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose is one tablet taken orally once daily at the same time each day, without any break between packs. It should be taken continuously, even during menstruation. If you are more than 12 hours late in taking a pill, you may not be protected against pregnancy, and additional contraceptive methods should be used for the next 7 days.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Weight gain
• Irregular menstrual cycle
• Mood changes
• Acne
• Breast pain

Less common side effects can include vaginitis, vomiting, hair loss, fatigue, and difficulty wearing contact lenses.

Precautions: Bredicon is contraindicated in certain conditions, including pregnancy, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, severe arterial disease, liver adenoma, porphyria, a history of breast cancer, and after the evacuation of a hydatidiform mole.

Caution should be exercised in women with heart disease, sex-steroid dependent cancer, a history of ectopic pregnancy, malabsorption syndromes, functional ovarian cysts, active liver disease, recurrent cholestatic jaundice, a history of jaundice in pregnancy, a history of cardiovascular or renal impairment, diabetes mellitus, asthma, epilepsy, migraine, depression, and thromboembolism.

Storage: Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from light and out of reach of children.
