💊 Buflex (Nabumetone)
Buflex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Unlike some other pain relievers, it is a prodrug, meaning it is converted by your liver into its active form (6MNA) to block the enzymes that cause pain and swelling.
Osteoarthritis: Relief of joint pain and stiffness caused by wear and tear.
Rheumatoid Arthritis: Management of inflammation in autoimmune joint conditions.
Starting Dose: Usually 1000 mg once daily (with or without food).
Increased Relief: Some patients may require 1500 mg to 2000 mg per day, taken as a single dose or split into two doses.
Administration (1000 mg Tablet): Mix 1 tablet thoroughly in a full glass (250 ml) of water and drink completely.
Renal Caution: If you have kidney issues, the starting dose is lower (500 mg to 750 mg once daily) and requires close monitoring.
Pediatric Use: Not recommended for children under 18.
Allergy Warning: 🛑 Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., Ibuprofen, Naproxen), especially if they cause asthma or hives.
Surgery: Not for use before or after heart bypass (CABG) surgery.
Interactions: May reduce the effect of blood pressure medications (ACE inhibitors).
Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, and indigestion.
Nervous System: Dizziness, headache, or fatigue.
Ringing in Ears: Tinnitus may occur.
Kidney Health: Long-term use can affect kidney blood flow; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time possible.
