Calcin D (15)

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to elemental Calcium [Specify strength, e.g., 500 mg] and Vitamin D3 BP [Specify strength, e.g., 200 IU]. Available in strips of 15 tablets, manufactured by Renata Limited in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. Used in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, hypoparathyroidism, and latent tetany. Also used when there is an increased need for calcium and Vitamin D, such as during pregnancy, lactation, and in elderly patients. May be used as a supplement to ensure adequate intake.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is one tablet daily, preferably after a meal, or as directed by a registered medical practitioner. The dosage may be adjusted based on individual needs and medical conditions.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated at recommended doses. Possible side effects include mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, and stomach upset. In rare cases, hypercalcemia may occur with high doses or prolonged use.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, kidney stones, hyperparathyroidism, and Vitamin D toxicity. Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired renal function, sarcoidosis, and those taking cardiac glycosides or thiazide diuretics.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 30°C.
