Caldil Plus Tablet

Presentation: Film-coated tablets, usually available in strips or blister packs. Manufactured by Drug International Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP 1250 mg (equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg) and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP 200 IU.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Used in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disease. Also used to ensure adequate calcium intake in conditions like pregnancy and lactation, osteogenesis and tooth formation (as an adjunct), and with anti-seizure medications. May also be used as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: Two tablets daily or one tablet twice daily. It is best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption. Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water, or as directed¹by a physician.

Side Effects: This combination is generally well-tolerated. Constipation may occur. If you experience nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, or increased urination while taking this medication, notify your physician.

Precautions: Contraindicated in case of hypercalcaemia, hyperthyroidism, renal calculi & nephrolithiasis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and concomitant digoxin therapy. If there is any pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease, precautions should be taken. Caldil-Plus should be used as directed by a physician during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Caution should be taken when administered to a child. It has possible interactions with digoxin, antacids containing calcium, aluminium or magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol or other vitamin D supplements; tetracycline, doxycycline, aminocycline or oxytetracycline, etc.²Consult your physician before taking any of these drugs with Caldil-Plus.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
