Carbocal-D 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), available in various strengths (e.g., Calcium 500mg with Vitamin D3 200 IU). Available in strips or bottles.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate BP (amount specified) and Vitamin D3 BP (amount specified).

Indications: For treatment and prevention of Calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. Used in osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and low parathyroid hormone levels. Also for adequate Calcium intake during pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney disease, and with certain medications. May be used as a supplement and phosphate binder.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: Usually 1-2 tablets daily in divided doses, with or just after meals. Dosage depends on strength and individual needs.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Possible: constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, vomiting, skin rash. High calcium in blood and urine may occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in high calcium levels, bone metastases, sarcoidosis, high thyroid hormone levels, Vitamin D overdose, severe kidney failure, high calcium in urine, kidney stones, and hypersensitivity. Caution in mild to moderate kidney issues or high calcium in urine. May interact with some diuretics and antibiotics.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
