Ceevit (Tablet)

Presentation: Each tablet contains Ascorbic Acid BP (Vitamin C). Different strengths are available (e.g., 250 mg, 500 mg); refer to the product packaging for the specific strength in Bangladesh. Tablets are usually chewable or swallowable.

Indications: Prevention and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy). May be used in conditions with increased Vitamin C requirements such as pregnancy, lactation, infections, trauma, burns, post-surgery, fever, and stress. Also indicated in certain other conditions as directed by a physician.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose for prevention is 1 tablet daily. For treatment, the dose is usually 1-2 tablets daily, or as directed by a physician, depending on the severity of the deficiency. The maximum safe dose is usually 2000 mg daily in divided doses. Follow the specific instructions on the product packaging or your doctor's advice. Chewable tablets should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Swallowable tablets should be taken with water.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Mega-doses (more than 1000 mg daily) may cause diarrhea, nausea, or abdominal bloating. High doses may also affect iron absorption in some individuals.

Precautions: Use with caution in individuals with a history of kidney stones (hyperoxaluria). High doses during pregnancy may lead to scurvy in newborns. May interfere with certain laboratory tests (e.g., for glucose, uric acid).

Storage: Store in a dry place below 30°C, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
