Indication:
Cinaryl Plus is indicated for the treatment of vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, and Meniere's syndrome. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of motion sickness.Cinnarizine is a calcium channel blocker and antihistamine that helps improve blood flow in the inner ear and reduces the excitability of the vestibular system.6Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine with anticholinergic properties that helps to suppress the symptoms of motion sickness and vertigo.7
Dosage and Administration:
The usual adult dose for vertigo and Meniere's syndrome is 1 tablet three times daily.
For motion sickness, the usual adult dose is 1 tablet at least half an hour before travel, followed by 1 tablet every 8 hours during the journey if needed.
For children (5-12 years), the dose for motion sickness is half a tablet at least half an hour before travel, followed by half a tablet every 8 hours during the journey if needed.
Cinaryl Plus tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food.It is important to follow your doctor's instructionsregarding the dosage and duration of treatment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and stomach upset. These side effects are usually mild and temporary.
Less common side effects may include blurred vision, palpitations, allergic reactions (such as skin rash or itching), and in rare cases, extrapyramidal symptoms (such as restlessness, tremors, and muscle stiffness), especially in elderly patients.
Precautions:
Cinaryl Plus may cause drowsiness, so patients should exercise caution while driving or operating machinery.Avoid alcohol as it can increase drowsiness.
Use with caution in patients with epilepsy, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or urinary retention.
It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless considered essential by the physician.
Drug Interactions:
Cinaryl Plus may enhance the sedative effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other central nervous system depressants. It can also interfere with the action of antihistamines. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, to avoid potentialdrug interactions.
