Citalon 5

Presentation: Each tablet contains 5 mg of Escitalopram Oxalate. Available in strips of 10 tablets.

Indications: Citalon 5 is approved for the treatment of:

• Major depressive disorder
• Generalized anxiety disorder
• Social anxiety disorder
• Panic disorder
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder  

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: The usual dosage is 10 mg once daily. Depending on individual patient response, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg daily.  
• For panic disorder, an initial dose of 5 mg is recommended for the first week before increasing to 10 mg daily.
• It can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Insomnia
• Fatigue
• Increased sweating
• Decreased libido
• Delayed ejaculation
• Anorgasmia (decreased orgasm) in women

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have a history of mania or seizure disorders.
• Use with caution in patients with severe kidney or liver disease.
• It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.
• Citalon 5 may interact with other medications, including MAOIs, aspirin, and NSAIDs.
• It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Citalon 5.
• Citalon 5 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before use.

Storage: Keep in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
