Presentation: Tablets, typically available in strips or blister packs. Manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Each tablet contains Calcium Citrate USP equivalent to 252 mg Calcium and Calcitriol EP 0.25 mcg.

Indications: Used to prevent and treat low blood calcium levels in individuals who do not get enough calcium from their diet. May be used for conditions such as bone loss (osteoporosis), weak bones (osteomalacia/rickets), decreased activity of the parathyroid gland (hypoparathyroidism),and a certain muscle disease (latent tetany). Also used in certainpatients to ensure adequate calcium intake (e.g., postmenopausal).

Dosage & Administration: 1 to 4 tablets daily with or without food, depending on the clinical situation or as directed by a registered physician.

Side Effects: Possible side effects include constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, headache, and muscle weakness.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia, malabsorption syndrome, heart disease, kidney disease, kidney stones, certain immune system disorders (sarcoidosis), liver disease, and certain bowel diseases (Crohn's disease). Use with caution with concurrent use of tetracyclines, quinolones, oral biphosphates, and corticosteroids. Increased risk of hypercalcaemia and metabolic alkalosis with thiazide diuretics. High blood calcium levelsmay increase the effect of cardiac glycosides. Fatal encephalopathy can occur in patients with renal failure when given calcium citrate and aluminumproducts concurrently.
