Clonatril 1

Presentation: Tablets containing Clonazepam 1 mg.

Indications: Treatment of certain seizure disorders, including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, akinetic and myoclonic seizures, and absence seizures. May also be used for panic disorder.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage is individualized. For seizure disorders in adults, initial dose is typically 0.5 mg three times daily. May be increased gradually by 0.5-1 mg every 3 days until seizures are controlled or side effects become intolerable. Maximum daily dose usually 20 mg. For panic disorder, initial dose is often 0.25 mg twice daily, may be increased. Follow physician's instructions.

Side Effects: Very common: drowsiness. Common: dizziness, coordination problems, fatigue, muscle weakness. Less common: confusion, irritability, depression, memory impairment, blurred vision, constipation. Rare: respiratory depression, paradoxical reactions.

Precautions: Inform physician of liver or kidney problems, lung disease, glaucoma, or history of substance abuse. May be habit-forming. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Caution with alcohol and other CNS depressants. May impair judgment and motor skills. Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
