Presentation: Each tablet contains Clonazepam USP 2 mg.

Indications: Cloron is indicated for the treatment of:

• Panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.
• Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (petit mal variant), akinetic, and myoclonic seizures, alone or as an adjunct.
• Absence seizures (petit mal) in patients who have failed to respond to succinimides.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage is individualized by your doctor. Some general recommendations:

• Adults with Seizure Disorders: Initial dose should not exceed 0.5 mg three times daily. Doses may be increased by 0.5 to 1 mg every three days until seizure is adequately controlled or until side effects prevent any further increase. The maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg.
• Adults with Panic Disorder: The initial dose is 0.25 mg twice daily. An increase to the target dose for most patients of 1 mg/day may be made after 3 days. The maximum recommended daily dose is 4 mg.

Cloron tablets can be taken with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as withdrawal symptoms can occur.

Side Effects: The most frequently occurring side effects are related to central nervous system (CNS) depression and include:

• Drowsiness (occurs in approximately 50% of patients)
• Ataxia (impaired coordination, occurs in approximately 30% of patients)

Other potential side effects include:

• Depression
• Dizziness
• Fatigue
• Impaired coordination
• Abnormal eye movements
• Confusion
• Memory problems
• Behavioral disturbances (in about 25% of patients)
• Slurred speech
• Muscle hypotonia
• Hypersalivation in infants

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with chronic pulmonary insufficiency or with impairment of renal or hepatic function, and in the elderly or debilitated.  
• Cloron may cause drowsiness and impair your ability to drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Cloron, as it can intensify its sedative effects.
• Clonazepam can be habit-forming and should be used exactly as prescribed.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Contraindications: Cloron is contraindicated in patients with:

• Known hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines.
• Significant liver disease.
• Acute narrow-angle glaucoma.

Drug Interactions: Cloron can interact with various medications, especially other CNS depressants and alcohol. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 30°C.
