Comfy 2 Tablet - (2mg)
Generic Name: Clonazepam
Strength: Each tablet contains Clonazepam BP 2 mg.
Indications:
Comfy is used to treat:
- Seizure disorders, including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and myoclonic seizures.
- Panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.
Dosage and Administration:
Dosage should be individualized by a physician.
- Seizure Disorders:
- Adults: Initial dose is usually 0.5 mg three times daily. Maintenance dose is usually 4 to 8 mg daily in divided doses. Maximum dose is 20 mg daily.
- Children: Initial dose is 0.01 to 0.03 mg/kg/day in divided doses, up to a maximum of 0.05 mg/kg/day. Maintenance dose is usually 0.1 to 0.2 mg/kg/day, divided three times daily.
- Panic Disorder:
- Adults: Initial dose is 0.25 mg twice daily. An increase to the target dose of 1 mg/day may be made after 3 days. Maximum dose is 4 mg/day.
- Comfy tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
- Do not stop taking Comfy suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms. Dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to clonazepam or other benzodiazepines.
- Severe liver disease.
- Acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
Side Effects:
- Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination.
- Less Common: Irritability, depression, memory problems, slurred speech, confusion.
- Rare: Respiratory depression, hallucinations, psychosis.
Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.
- May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
- Avoid alcohol use.
- Risk of dependence and withdrawal symptoms with prolonged use.
- Monitor for suicidal thoughts or behavior.
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:
- Pregnancy: May cause harm to the fetus. Use only if clearly needed and the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
- Lactation: Clonazepam passes into breast milk and may cause sedation and feeding difficulties in infants. Breastfeeding is not recommended.
Storage:
- Store below 30°C.
- Protect from light and moisture.
- Keep out of reach of children.
