Consucon 60 MR
Presentation:Consucon 60 MR tablets are modified-release tablets containing 60 mg of gliclazide.
Indications:Consucon 60 MR is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight reduction alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels.
Dosage and Administration:The usual starting dose is 30 mg or 60 mg once daily, taken orally at breakfast.The dosage may be adjusted gradually by your doctor based on your blood glucose response, usually in increments of 30 mg at intervals of at least 2 weeks, up to a maximum of 120 mg once daily. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and should not be crushed or chewed.It is important totake it at the same time each day, preferably with breakfast. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you, and regular blood glucose monitoring is necessary to guide dosage adjustments.
Side Effects: The most common side effect is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Other possible side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain), headache, weight gain, and allergic skin reactions.
Precautions: Consucon 60 MR is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and known hypersensitivity to gliclazide or other sulfonylureas or sulfonamides. Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal or hepatic impairment, elderly patients, and those with risk factors for hypoglycemia. Alcohol consumption should be avoided.
Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light.Keep out of reach of children.
