Coralmax-DX

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP (from Coral source) equivalent to 600 mg of elemental Calcium and Vitamin D3 USP 400 IU. It is available in blister packs containing strips of tablets, with the number of tablets per pack determined by Orion Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Coralmax-DX is indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. It is also used in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, tetany, hypoparathyroidism, and disorders of osteogenesis. It can be used as a supplement in cases of inadequate calcium intake in the diet, rickets, pregnancy and lactation, and in elderly patients. It may also be used as a phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose is one tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by a registered medical practitioner. Taking it with or just after a meal ensures better absorption.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, and upper gastrointestinal discomfort. Hypercalcemia due to prolonged use has rarely been reported.

Precautions: Coralmax-DX is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, hypercalcaemia resulting from overdose of Vitamin D3, hyperparathyroidism, bone metastases, severe renal insufficiency, severe hypercalciuria, and renal calculi. Caution should be exercised in patients with mild hypercalciuria, renal or cardiac disease, and in those receiving cardiac glycosides. Plasma and serum calcium levels should be monitored in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment and during long-term use.

Storage: Store at a temperature below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
