Coraltec D 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP (from coral source) equivalent to Elemental Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 USP 200 IU. 

Indications: Coraltec D is indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency and is used in conditions such as:

• Osteoporosis
• Osteomalacia
• Rickets
• Tetany
• Hypoparathyroidism
• As a supplement in conditions of increased demand like pregnancy and lactation, childhood growth, and in elderly patients.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is one tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water, preferably with or just after a meal to enhance absorption, or as directed by the physician.

Side Effects: The most common side effects may include flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, and diarrhea. Hypercalciuria and hypercalcaemia may occur with long-term treatment at high dosages.

Precautions: Coraltec D is contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, and hypersensitivity to any component. Careful monitoring of serum calcium levels may be needed in patients with mild hypercalciuria and mild to moderate renal impairment, especially during long-term use. Use with caution in patients with a history of renal stones.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
