Indications:Deltasone (prednisolone) is a corticosteroid with a wide range of uses, including the treatment of certain endocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, collagen diseases, dermatologic diseases, allergic states, ophthalmic diseases,respiratory diseases, hematologic disorders, neoplastic diseases, edematous states, gastrointestinal diseases,and other miscellaneous conditions.It is primarily used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects.

Dosage and Administration:The initial dosage of Deltasone 10 can range from 5 to 60 mg per day, depending on the condition being treated and its severity.The dose should be individualized based on patient response. It is usually administered orally, preferably with food to minimize gastric irritation.After a satisfactory response is achieved, the dosage should be gradually reduced to the lowest effective maintenance dose.The duration of treatment depends on the clinical condition. Follow your physician's instructions precisely.

Side Effects:Common side effects may include increased appetite, weight gain, fluid retention, mood changes, insomnia, acne, and increased blood sugar levels.Long-term use can lead to more serious side effects such as osteoporosis, cataracts, glaucoma, increased risk of infections, adrenal suppression, and Cushing's syndrome.  

Precautions:Deltasone is contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity to prednisolone.Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart failure, peptic ulcer disease, osteoporosis, glaucoma, psychiatric disorders, and certain infections. Prolonged use may lead to adrenal insufficiency, requiring gradual withdrawal.Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carefully considered.
