Dexger 60 

Presentation:Each delayed-release capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN 60 mg.It is usually available in blister packs. 

Indications:Dexger (Dexlansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor indicated in adults and adolescents (12 years of age and older) for:  

• Healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE) for up to 8 weeks.  
• Maintaining healing of EE and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months in adultsand up to 16 weeks in patients 12 to 17 years of age.  
• Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for4 weeks.  

Dosage and Administration:  The recommended dose for healing erosive esophagitis in adults and children over 12 years is 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.For maintenance of healed EE and symptomatic non-erosive GERD, the dose is 30 mg once daily.

Dexger capsules should be swallowed whole and can be taken without regard to food.Alternatively, the capsule can be opened, and the intact granules sprinkled on one tablespoon of applesauce and swallowed immediately.Granules should not be chewed.

Side Effects:Common side effects of Dexger (Dexlansoprazole) may include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence.  

Precautions:Dexger (Dexlansoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised with concomitant use of methotrexate. Long-term use may lead to an increased risk of bone fracture and hypomagnesemia.

Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Dexger should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is not known whetherDexlansoprazole is excreted in human milk; caution should be exercised when administering to breastfeeding women.

Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light.Keep out of reach of children.
