Diapro 30 MR

Presentation:Each modified-release tablet contains 30 mg of gliclazide.

Indications:Diapro MR is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight reduction alone are not sufficient to achieve adequate glycemic control.The modified-release formulation allows for once-daily dosing.  

Dosage and Administration:Diapro 30 MR tablets are for oral administration and should be swallowed whole with water, usually taken once daily at breakfast.The dosage is individualized based on blood glucose levels and response to treatment. The usual starting dose is 30 mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted gradually in increments of 30 mg every 2 weeks, based on blood glucose control, up to a maximum of 120 mg once daily.

Side Effects:

• Very Common:Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).  
• Common: Weight gain, gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort).
• Uncommon: Skin reactions (rash, itching, urticaria).
• Rare:Blood disorders (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis), liver problems (jaundice, elevated liver enzymes).  

Precautions:

Diapro MR is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and hypersensitivity to gliclazide or other sulfonylureas.Caution should be exercised in patients with mild to moderate renal or hepatic impairment, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, and in situations that may increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Regular monitoring of blood glucose is necessary.

Storage:Store below 30°C, protected from moisture and light.Keep out of reach of children.
