Presentation: Each tablet contains Clonazepam BP 2 mg. Available in strips or blister packs, with the number of tablets per pack determined by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Disopan (Clonazepam) is indicated for panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia. It is also used alone or as an adjunct in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (petit mal variant), akinetic, and myoclonic seizures. It may be considered for absence seizures (petit mal) unresponsive to succinimides.

Dosage and Administration: Dosage should be individualized by a registered medical practitioner.

• Adult Seizure Disorders: Initial dose not to exceed 1.5 mg daily in three divided doses, increased by 0.5-1 mg every three days up to a maximum of 20 mg daily.
• Adult Panic Disorder: Initial dose 0.25 mg twice daily, increased to a target dose of 1 mg daily after three days, with further adjustments of 0.125-0.25 mg twice daily every three days up to a maximum of 4 mg daily.
• Pediatric Patients (up to 10 years or 30 kg): Initial dose 0.01-0.03 mg/kg/day in two or three divided doses, not exceeding 0.05 mg/kg/day. Maintenance dose is typically 0.1-0.2 mg/kg/day.

Administered orally, with or without food. Abrupt withdrawal should be avoided.

Side Effects: Common side effects include drowsiness and ataxia. Other potential side effects include behavioral problems, abnormal eye movements, confusion, depression, amnesia, and palpitations.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines or significant liver disease, and acute narrow-angle glaucoma. Use with caution in open-angle glaucoma, renal impairment, chronic pulmonary insufficiency, and in elderly or debilitated patients. Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless benefits outweigh risks. Alcohol and other CNS depressants should be avoided. May impair driving ability.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
