Don A Suspension - (5mg/5ml) contains Domperidone BP 5mg per 5ml.It is manufactured by The ACME Laboratories Ltd.  

Indications: Don A (Domperidone) is indicated for:

• Nausea and vomiting (acute).  
• Functional dyspepsia (discomfort after meals).  
• Stimulation of gut motility.  
• Heartburn with or without regurgitation.  
• Epigastric fullness, abdominal distension, upper abdominal pain.  
• Eructation, flatulence, early satiety.  
• Nausea and vomiting of functional, organic, infectious, dietetic origin, or induced by radiotherapy, drug therapy, or migraine.  
• Nausea and vomiting induced by dopamine agonists in Parkinson's disease.  
• Speeding barium transit in follow-through radiological studies.  

Dosage and Administration:Don-A® should be taken 15-30 minutes before a meal.  

• Adults:10-20 ml (2-4 teaspoonfuls) every 4-8 hours.The maximum daily dose is 80 mg (80 ml).  
• Children:2-4 ml suspension per 10 kg body weight every 4-8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 0.8 mg/kg.

Side Effects: Side effects are rare and usually mild. They may include:

• Dry mouth  
• Thirst
• Headache  
• Nervousness
• Drowsiness
• Diarrhea
• Skin rash and itch  
• Transient intestinal cramps
• Hyperprolactinemia (may lead to galactorrhea, breast enlargement, soreness, and reduced libido in rare cases).  
• Extrapyramidal reactions (very rare in adults, more likely in children with an immature blood-brain barrier).  

Precautions:

• Use with caution in children due to a potential increased risk of extrapyramidal reactions.  
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment as Domperidone is extensively metabolized in the liver.  
• Use with caution in patients with kidney disease; dose adjustment may be needed in severe cases.
• The safety of Domperidone during pregnancy has not been proven and is not recommended, especially in the first trimester, unless the anticipated benefit outweighs the risk.
• Small amounts of Domperidone may be secreted in breast milk; breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment unless the expected benefits outweigh any potential risk.  
• Domperidone may increase the risk of heart rhythm disorders and cardiac arrest, particularly in those over 60 years or taking high doses or with certain other medications. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems or are taking other medications.
• Avoid concomitant use of antacids and antisecretory drugs as they may reduce the oral bioavailability of Domperidone.  
• Domperidone can interact with other drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors).  

Contraindications: Domperidone is contraindicated in patients with:

• Known hypersensitivity to Domperidone.  
• Neonates.
• Gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction, or perforation.  
• Prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor (prolactinoma).
