Indications: Dopagut (Domperidone) is indicated for the relief of nausea and vomiting. It is also used for the management of upper gastrointestinal motility disorders such as:

• Dyspeptic symptom complex (e.g., fullness, bloating, upper abdominal discomfort, early satiety)
• Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophagitis
• Acute nausea and vomiting of functional, organic, infectious, dietary, or drug-induced origin
• Nausea and vomiting associated with migraine
• Nausea and vomiting induced by dopamine-agonist anti-Parkinson drugs

Dosage and Administration: Dopagut 10 mg tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably 15-30 minutes before meals. The usual oral dosage for adults is 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets) every 6-8 hours, with a maximum daily dose of 80 mg. For children, dosage is usually based on body weight and often administered as a suspension; consult a physician for appropriate dosing. The duration of treatment should be as short as possible.

Side Effects: Common side effects of Dopagut (Domperidone) may include dry mouth, headache, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Less common side effects can include dizziness, nervousness, breast tenderness or enlargement, and galactorrhea. Domperidone may also rarely cause extrapyramidal reactions.

Precautions: Dopagut (Domperidone) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone or any of its components, pituitary tumor (prolactinoma), gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation, and in patients with known existing prolongation of cardiac conduction intervals or underlying cardiac diseases. Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney disease and in elderly patients. The use of domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorders and cardiac arrest, particularly at higher doses.

Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: The safety of Dopagut during pregnancy has not been established, and it is generally not recommended. Domperidone passes into breast milk and may cause side effects in the breastfed infant; breastfeeding is generally not recommended during treatment.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
