Dulox 20

Presentation: Capsules containing Duloxetine Hydrochloride equivalent to Duloxetine 20 mg.

Indications: Treatment of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, neuropathic pain (including diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain), and fibromyalgia.

Dosage & Administration:

• Major Depressive Disorder: The usual starting dose for adults is 60 mg once daily. Some patients may benefit from a starting dose of 30 mg once daily for one week before increasing to 60 mg once daily.
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder: The usual starting dose is 30 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 60 mg once daily. In some patients, the dose may need to be increased to 90 mg or 120 mg once daily.
• Neuropathic Pain: The usual starting dose is 60 mg once daily.
• Fibromyalgia: The usual starting dose is 60 mg once daily.

Dosage may be adjusted by the physician based on individual response and tolerability. May be taken with or without food. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, dry mouth, headache, somnolence (drowsiness), dizziness, constipation, fatigue, decreased appetite, increased sweating, blurred vision, sexual dysfunction.
• Less Common: Vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, insomnia, agitation, anxiety, tremor, increased heart rate, orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing), rash.
• Rare: Liver problems, hyponatremia (low sodium levels in the blood), serotonin syndrome (symptoms may include agitation, hallucinations, rapid heartbeat, fever, sweating, tremors, muscle stiffness).

Precautions:

• Inform your physician about any liver or kidney problems, heart conditions, high blood pressure, glaucoma, bleeding disorders, or a history of seizures.
• Use caution with alcohol and other medications that affect the central nervous system.
• May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults. Monitor for changes in mood or behavior.
• Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Do not stop taking Dulox abruptly, as withdrawal symptoms may occur. Dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
