Easium 5

Presentation: Tablets containing Diazepam BP 5 mg.

Indications: Indicated for the management of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder. May also be used for the short-term relief of insomnia, muscle spasm, and as adjunctive therapy for certain seizure disorders.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage should be individualized.

• Anxiety Disorders: Adults: The usual dose is 5-10 mg two to four times daily.
• Insomnia: Adults: 5-15 mg at bedtime.
• Muscle Spasm: Adults: 5-10 mg three to four times daily.
• Adjunctive Therapy for Seizures: Adults: 2-10 mg two to four times daily.

Elderly patients and those with hepatic impairment may require lower doses. Follow physician's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include drowsiness, fatigue, muscle weakness, and ataxia. Less common side effects can include confusion, amnesia, dysarthria, and dizziness.

Precautions: Use with caution in patients with respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea, hepatic or renal impairment, and a history of drug or alcohol abuse. May be habit-forming. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Caution should be exercised when used with other central nervous system depressants, including alcohol. May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
