Generic Name: Ondansetron Hydrochloride

Strength: Available in 8 mg tablets.
Indications:
- Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy.
- Prevention and treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting.
- Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with radiotherapy.
Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage is determined by the doctor based on the cause of nausea and vomiting.
- Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV):
- Adults: 8 mg orally 1-2 hours before chemotherapy, followed by 8 mg orally 12 hours later.
- Children (6 months to 18 years): Dosage is weight-based.
- Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV):
- Adults: 8 mg orally 1-2 hours before each fraction of radiotherapy.
- Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV):
- Adults: 16 mg orally one hour before anesthesia or 8 mg orally two hours before anesthesia.
- Can be taken with or without food.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ondansetron.
- Concomitant use with apomorphine.
Side Effects:
- Common: Headache, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue.
- Less Common: Dizziness, drowsiness.
- Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions, chest pain, arrhythmias.
Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with heart problems or liver disease.
- May mask progressive ileus or gastric distension.

Storage:
- Store below 30°C.
