Emjenta 10/5

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg of empagliflozin and 5 mg of linagliptin. Emjenta 10/5 tablets are available in blister packs.

Indications: Emjenta is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control when treatment with both empagliflozin and linagliptin is appropriate.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended dose is one tablet (10 mg empagliflozin and 5 mg linagliptin) once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. Renal function should be assessed before initiating Emjenta and periodically thereafter. Emjenta should not be initiated if eGFR is below 45 mL/min/1.73 m². Discontinue Emjenta if eGFR falls below 45 mL/min/1.73 m².

Side Effects: Common side effects may include urinary tract infections and nasopharyngitis. Hypoglycemia may occur when used in combination with insulin or insulin secretagogues.

Precautions: Emjenta is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, or dialysis, and in patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to empagliflozin or linagliptin. Assess renal function before initiating and during therapy. Use with caution in patients with risk factors for ketoacidosis and monitor for signs and symptoms of urinary tract infections.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
