Emparol-L 10/5 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Empagliflozin INN 10 mg and Linagliptin INN 5 mg. Available in strips.

Indications:Emparol-L is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellituswhen treatment with both empagliflozin and linagliptin is appropriate.Empagliflozin is also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.  

Dosage and Administration:   The recommended dose is one tablet (Empagliflozin 10 mg / Linagliptin 5 mg) taken orally once daily, preferably in the morning, with or without food. The dose may be increased to one tablet containing Empagliflozin 25 mg / Linagliptin 5 mg once daily based on individual glycemic response and tolerability. Assess renal function prior to initiation and periodically thereafter. Emparol-L is not recommended for use in patients with an eGFR below 45 mL/min/1.73 m².

Side Effects: Common side effects may include urinary tract infections, nasopharyngitis, and upper respiratory tract infections. Other possible side effects include increased urination, genital mycotic infections, thirst, nausea, and constipation. Less common but potentially serious side effects include ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, volume depletion (dehydration), and hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions: Emparol-L is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²) or end-stage renal disease, and in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reactions to empagliflozin or linagliptin. Use with caution in patients with risk factors for ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, heart failure, and volume depletion. Monitor renal function periodically. Consider temporary interruption in situations of reduced oral intake or fluid losses. Female patients may experience vulvovaginal mycotic infections, and uncircumcised male patients may have an increased risk of balanitis.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
