Encorate Chrono 200 Tablet is a modified-release formulation containing a combination of Sodium Valproate BP (133.5 mg) and Valproic Acid USP (58 mg), which together are equivalent to Sodium Valproate 200 mg.

Indications: Encorate Chrono 200 is used for the management of:

• Epilepsy, including generalized and partial seizures.
• Bipolar disorder, for the treatment of manic episodes.
• Prophylaxis of migraine headaches.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage is highly individualized and should be determined by your doctor. Some general guidelines:

• Epilepsy (Adults): Usually started at 600 mg daily in divided doses, increasing gradually until seizure control is achieved. The usual maintenance dose is 1-2 g daily.
• Epilepsy (Children over 20 kg): Initially 400 mg daily in divided doses, increased until control. The usual range is 20-30 mg/kg daily.
• Bipolar Disorder: The initial dose is usually 600 mg daily, which may be adjusted by your doctor. The maintenance dosage is typically 1000-2000 mg daily.
• Migraine Prophylaxis: The usual dose is 400-600 mg daily.

Encorate Chrono tablets should be swallowed whole and should not be crushed or chewed. It is usually taken with or after food.
