Presentation: Each soft gelatin capsule contains Vitamin E USP 200 IU (as d-alpha tocopherol or tocopheryl acetate). Available in blister packs of strips. Manufactured by Ziska Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and other companies in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin E deficiency. May be used as a dietary supplement and has been tried for various conditions due to its antioxidant properties, including:

• Support during pregnancy and lactation.
• Support in newborns where anemia can arise due to Vitamin E insufficiency.
• Potentially for cardiovascular health.
• For skin and hair health.
• As an antioxidant.

Dosage and Administration: The usual dosage is 1-2 capsules daily or as directed by a registered physician. It is usually taken orally.

Side Effects: Vitamin E is usually well tolerated. Large doses (greater than 1000 IU daily) may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, and other gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Vitamin E.
• Vitamin E may impair the absorption of Vitamin A and Vitamin K.
• It may potentiate the effect of Warfarin, so caution is advised in patients taking anticoagulant treatments, and monitoring of prothrombin time and INR is recommended.
• Use with caution in Vitamin K deficient patients as it may increase bleeding tendency.
• There is no strong evidence of the safety of high doses of Vitamin E in pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, therefore use should be avoided unless clearly needed and under medical advice.
• There is no specific information available on excretion in breast milk, so it is advisable to use with caution during lactation and under medical advice.

Storage: Do not store above 25°C. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
