Exelon 1.5 Capsule

Presentation: Each capsule contains 1.5 mg of Rivastigmine (as Rivastigmine Tartrate).

Indications: Exelon is used to treat mild to moderately severe dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease and dementia associated with Parkinson's disease in adults. It helps improve memory, awareness, and the ability to function in daily life by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger in the brain called acetylcholine.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose is 1.5 mg twice a day, taken with morning and evening meals. If well-tolerated after at least two weeks, the dose may be increased to 3 mg twice a day. Further increases to 4.5 mg and then 6 mg twice a day can be considered based on tolerability after at least two weeks at each dose level. The maximum recommended daily dose is 6 mg twice a day. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. If you miss the medicine for more than three days, consult your doctor before restarting.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, and tremors. These are often mild and may decrease as your body adjusts. Serious side effects can occur; report any severe or persistent symptoms to your doctor immediately.

Precautions: Inform your doctor about any heart problems, stomach ulcers, seizures, asthma or other lung diseases, liver or kidney problems, or low body weight. Use caution while driving or operating machinery as Exelon can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid alcohol.

Storage: Store below 30°C (86°F), away from moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
